The
Sentry™ PDU 400 offers - 48 VDC power distribution and fuse or
circuit breaker protection per each output connection and will
support the ever-changing rack and cabinet equipment units ranging
from low-amp thin servers to the high-amp Cisco Catalyst® and GSR®
products.
Today's remote
co-location facilities and telco central offices require both high
current and lower current power distribution. The Sentry PDU
Product Family uniquely features the flexibility to meet these
diverse power distribution needs. Sentry PDU models are designed
with GMT fuses for "Low Amp" output power connections, and TPA
fuses or Thermal Circuit Breakers for "High Amp" output power
connections.

Sentry PDU 'Fail
Safe' Models
Five of the new Sentry PDU
Models are available as "Fail Safe" models. The Sentry PDU Fail
Safe models provide redundant power for single-power supply
network equipment units in your rack or cabinet. Using steering
diodes, the Fails Safe models allow either the A or B power feed
to distribute power to the alternate output connections if a power
loss occurs on one input. Limitations on the amount of power
being distributed to both A and B output connections are equal to
the maximum power input feed per bus (50 or 100 Amps, model
dependent).
Input Power Feed
Connections
The Sentry PDU 400 products
can distribute a maximum of 400 Amps @ -48 VDC from two power
feeds.
- Enclosure capacity 100, 200 or
400 Amps (model dependent)
- Two Power Input Feeds, A & B,
each support 50 to 200 Amps
- Two-hole compression lugs
connect power cables to input assemblies
- Compression lugs are secured to
dual mounting studs for a non-breakable power feed
|
Low Amp
Output Connections
- Supports a wide range of
currents - from 1/2 to 15 amps each.
- Fast, easy, safe and
secure screw-down clamp connectors for DC cable attachment
- Reliable axial screw-down
clamp connectors support AWG 28 - 4 wire size
- Summary: Power
distribution for 2 Amp thin servers, 4 Amp Net Servers and
10 to 15 Amp intermediate sized routers
|
High Amp
Output Connections
- Supports high-amp loads up
to 50 Amps per connection
- Two-hole compression lugs
accept a #6 to #14 AWG power cable
- Compression lugs are
secured to dual stud assembly for a (+/-) terminal pair
- Summary: Power
Distribution for high capacity equipment units such as the
Cisco 6500® and Cisco 12000® series

Fuse & Circuit Breaker Power Output Protection
Protect your
investment in network equipment with fuses and circuit
breakers.
- Fuses and circuits can be
removed/pulled out to use as a local on/off switch
- Fast acting GMT fuses
protect 1/2 Amp to 15 Low Amp output connections
- 5 to 50 Amp power output
connections are protected by TPA fuses or Thermal Circuit
Breakers (model dependent)
- Positive visual indication
of a blown fuse
- Fuses are easily replaced
without special tools
- Thermal Circuit Breakers
can be custom ordered for 5 to 50 Amp ratings
Grounding
The exclusive
patented power input/grounding assembly has a NEBS compliant
dual-stud chassis ground connection, which accepts a
dual-hole compression lug. In accordance with NEBS
compliance, the compression lug supports a ground wire one
size larger than the input cable.
